Make up Mistakes

Take  a look at our top ten makeup mistakes, why you should stop and how to resolve this problem.

No matter if you are new or an expert at makeup there are always going to be more lessons to be learnt when applying the right make up whether its colour, consistency or quantity everyone will make mistakes in their life time.

Number 10.  Not applying primer

Primer is used to simply tone down the overall shine to the face caused by oils in the skin. When wearing makeup primer not only smooths the over all look of the skin it also produces a matt effect.

 9. Mismatched foundation
Not colour matching your foundation when buying can leave you with a month of added powered and blusher coverage. In this picture for example Christina's foundation is at lease two shades lighter than the rest of her body. Finding a close/ perfect colour match will leave you with that natural glowing effect.

  8. Too much bronzer or Blusher
Over powering your face with blonzer will not only throw off the natural make up look,  it will also make the rest of your makeup look out of place and cheap. Using a more toned down natural bronzer contorting under the cheek bones can bring a much more natural fashion effect.

7 block eye shadow
The use of block eye shadow leave the whole makeup looking like a cartoon effect. Useing the same shade and colour from the eyelash all the way up to the eyebrow can give off a un professional 1970's style.adding a darker shade near the eyelash and a shimmer or lighter shadow blending it outwards towards the eyebrows can leave a much nicer more subtle look. If you want to add to this maybe your are going on a night out or event then a solid liquid liner used on the eyelash line with a slight flick at the ends can give the eyes a more dramatic effect without it being too much.

6 Too much lipstick
The application of lipstick is in every girls blood, women all over the world use lipstick on a daily basis but  less than 50% cow the correct way to apply this makeup product to maximise its potential. Before applying lipstick there are many key factors which can either benefit or be a disadvantage to the overall look, these are: the colour, your skin tone, skin texture and  lipstick texture.
Before applying your lipstick exfoliating the area will get rid of any dead skin, soften and smooth the area. Next applying lip liner not only helps you apply your lipstick more accurately it also provides you with the more defined look.  Once you have applied your first thin layer of lipstick apply the second in a light, gentle motion. When the second layer has settled blot the area with a tissue and there you have it. perfect lipstick.

5 Over the top Eyebrows
Too defined, thick or thin eyebrows can throw off the over all look of not only your makeup but your face shape. Applying a thin natural coloured pencil with extremely light shading can give a much more professional finish.

4 Over the top eyelashes
Plastering each eyebrow in as much mascara as possible can not only be extremely difficult to discard of and damage your eyelashes but it also brings down the overall class of the makeup. Brushing your above your eyelashes in a downwards motion before  brushing in an upwards motion not only separates the lases it also makes them more manageable and  easier to execute.

3 Patchy Tan
The application of fake tan can be a nightmare to some, clinging to dry skin and becoming patchy id very common however it doesn't have to be. Exfoliating the skin before a fake tan application gets rid of any dead/ dry skin and helps the tan develop a much more even complexion.

2.  Too much under eye concealer
int he late 2000's makupe artists discovered using light under eye concealer would bring a brighter look to the makeup, freshen the face and give off radiance however when the application is wrong  the look is unsuccessful, blending the lighter section into your skin colour contours the face with a much more even look.

  1. Bad Contouring
Contouring is becoming ever more popular in 2013, girls around the world are attempting the defined 'Kim Kardashian look' however if this is done incorrectly the look can turn out more like face paint.  Applying a white concealer to the naturally highlighted sections of your face will brighten is up focusing on your key areas.  Using darker concealer, foundation or powder not only contours the face but makes it look slimmer and more defined. Bending is the key attribute when contouring and must be used on each section of makeup.
